In a bid to enhance ridership on the Nagpur Metro, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) has partnered with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to launch new feeder bus services. This move aims to address last-mile connectivity issues for commuters on the Orange and Aqua lines, particularly where metro stations are located far from residential areas.
The new feeder bus services will operate from Khapri, Lokmanya Nagar, and Bansi Nagar metro stations. From Khapri station, the feeder bus will connect to Butibori, serving several institutions and housing developments along the route. Although the second phase of the Nagpur Metro is expected to extend to Butibori, the feeder service is intended to provide a more convenient travel option in the interim.
At Lokmanya Nagar station, the feeder buses will facilitate access to nearby colleges and residential areas, covering routes from YCCE College to Brahmni by-pass road, including Hingna Rural Hospital, Hingna village, and several other key locations. Additionally, another service will connect Rajiv Nagar, Hingna Electronic Zone, and various local businesses.
From Bansi Nagar station, feeder buses will serve a broad range of destinations including Hingna octroi post, MIDC police station, Raisoni College, and numerous residential and commercial areas. A separate service from Bansi Nagar will extend to Cummins College, covering major locations such as Mahindra & Mahindra, CRPF gate, and YCCE College.
