The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Health Department is conducting a city-wide survey of fever patients to curb the spread of dengue and chikungunya. ASHA volunteers have completed inspections in 32,121 households. As of Friday, mosquito larvae linked to these diseases were discovered in 4,557 homes.
Among the identified sources of larvae were 1,254 coolers, 147 tires, 900 pots, 492 drums, 160 earthen pots, 1,337 bird and animal utensils, and 267 other items.
Additional Commissioner Anchal Goyal reviewed the survey process in the Dharampeth zone, inspecting homes with the KT Nagar Urban Primary Health Centre team. The inspection team included Medical Health Officer Dr. Deepak Selokar, Additional Medical Health Officer Dr. Vijay Joshi, and Zonal Medical Health Officer Dr. Varsha Deosthale.
