The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Task Force Committee convened a meeting on Tuesday to deliberate on strategies to curb the spread of Malaria, Dengue, and Chikungunya in Nagpur, which has been attributed to mosquito-borne diseases and inadequate vaccination rates in hospitals and dispensaries. Additional municipal commissioner Aanchal Goyal presided over the meeting.
Goyal held a meeting with the officers to discuss the measures being taken to combat diseases. She reviewed the fogging and spraying activities in various areas, and instructed the officers responsible for each zone to confirm the availability of machines and adjust the schedules for fogging and spraying in each zone.
Goyal also reviewed the vaccination activities in the hospitals. Dr. Sarla Lad, the Maternity and Child Welfare Officer, provided information on individuals who were deprived of vaccination and those who received late vaccinations.
