Centre Point School (CPS) on Amravati Road Bypass has secured the championship title at the DSO Inter-School U-19 Boys’ Football Championship for 2024. The tournament, held at Mankapur Stadium Football Ground, saw CPS Amravati Road showcase remarkable skill and determination.
The team began their campaign with a decisive win over Shir Convent, setting a strong foundation for their performance. In the quarter-finals, CPS defeated Bhavan’s Civil Lines 3-0, advancing to the semi-finals. There, they faced Hislop College in a gripping encounter that ended in a penalty shootout, which CPS won 5-4.
In the final, CPS edged out Dinanath Junior College with a narrow 1-0 victory to clinch the championship title. The team’s success was driven by the collective efforts of Abhimanyu Singh, Abhimanyu Yadav, Aarav Rathod, Aliyan Syed, Vinayak Kumar Singh, Nirankar Sachdev, Arush Shende, Akshat Meshram, Ansh Singh, Shourya Chauhan, Daksh Mokal, and Hiten Pali, under the guidance of coach Rahul Neware.
Principal Perveen Cassad, Vice-Principal Bhakti Bobde, and the entire staff congratulated the team on their remarkable achievement. CPS Amravati Road has now qualified for the divisional level of the competition.
