The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has chosen 265 trainees for the ambitious ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana,’ a scheme designed to boost youth employability in the state by offering practical job training. Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Abhijeet Chaudhari announced that appointment orders have been issued to these 265 trainees, with 29 new positions added.
The recruitment process for the remaining 168 positions out of a total of 433 posts will be completed soon. Among the 265 candidates already selected, 50 positions are for junior engineers (civil), 5 for junior engineers (electrical), 67 for civil engineering assistants, 5 for electrical engineering assistants, 41 for firefighters, 56 for junior clerks, 8 for assistant teachers (UDT), 5 for assistant teachers (LDT), 2 for tree officers, and 6 for wiremen.
Initially, applications were invited for 404 positions across various departments within the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). However, with the addition of 29 new positions, the total now includes 20 posts for sanitary inspectors and nine for tree officers. Eligible youth were invited to apply through the website rojgar.mahaswayam.gov.in, and trainees are being selected from the applications received.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend according to Maharashtra government guidelines: ₹6,000 for 12th pass, ₹8,000 for ITI or diploma holders, and ₹10,000 for graduates and postgraduates. The appointments were made under the guidance of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.
