In a major crackdown, the NDPS squad of the Nagpur Crime Branch arrested three drug peddlers and seized 907 grams of Mephedrone (MD) valued at Rs. 90.70 lakh from the Hivari Nagar Garden area late Tuesday night.
Acting on a tip-off about a consignment of MD being exchanged in the Nandanvan area, the police set up a trap near Hivari Nagar Garden. Between 10:45 pm and 1:30 am, the officers apprehended three suspects, while others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Kapil Gangadhar Khobragade (40) of Rajendra Nagar Slums, Rakesh Anantrao Giri (31) of Nandanvan Slums, and Akshay Bandu Wanjari (25) of Juna Bagadganj.
A manhunt is currently underway for the remaining accused: Sohel, a resident of Madhya Pradesh; Maksood Aminuddin Malik of Teka Taj Nagar; Golu Borkar of Hivari Nagar; and Akshay Bobde and Allahrakkha, both from Hingna.
