In response to the Bharat Bandh scheduled for August 21, 2024, organized by various parties and groups protesting the categorization of SC/ST reservations, several rallies will take place across Nagpur. The Nagpur Police Department has issued a traffic advisory to prepare the public for potential disruptions and suggest alternative routes.
Key rally routes include:
- Bhim Chowk, Indora: Starting at Bhim Chowk, the rally will proceed through Barakhuli, Indora Maidan, Indora Chowk, Kamal Chowk, Aawle Babu Chowk, 10 Number Bridge, Kadbi Chowk, and Gaddigodam Chowk, ending at LIC Chowk and Samvidhan Chowk.
- Jattarodi Chowk: This rally will begin at Jattarodi Chowk, moving through Medical Chowk, Krida Chowk, Aawari Chowk, Ashok Chowk, Baidhnath Chowk, and return to Medical Chowk.
- Manewada Chowk and Shatabdi Nagar Chowk: These rallies will proceed via Ajni Railway Bridge, Kriplani Chowk, Rahate Colony Chowk, Lokmat Chowk, Variety Chowk, and Maurice College T-Point, concluding at Samvidhan Chowk.
- Ajni Area and Trisharan Chowk: Beginning at Ajni Area and Trisharan Chowk, this rally will pass through Medical Chowk, Baidhnath Chowk, Sardar Patel Chowk, Cotton Market Chowk, Manas Chowk, and Maurice College T-Point, ending at Samvidhan Chowk.
- Annabhau Sathe Chowk: The rally will move through Kriplani Chowk, Rahate Colony Chowk, Lokmat Chowk, Variety Chowk, and Maurice College T-Point, concluding at Samvidhan Chowk.
Additional rallies from other city areas may cause further traffic impacts. Police officers will be deployed at key intersections to manage traffic and minimize disruptions, with diversions in place as needed. Citizens are advised to avoid these routes and use alternative paths to reduce inconvenience. The police department requests public cooperation to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion.
