In a significant breakthrough, Dhantoli police have apprehended seven suspects involved in an armed robbery, recovering stolen valuables worth Rs 7 lakh. The robbery took place on August 26, 2024, when 37-year-old Kishore Samadhan Bhandarge, a resident of Dhotra in Buldhana district, was targeted in Nagpur.
Bhandarge, accompanied by his friend Amol Kakde, had traveled to Nagpur to collect ₹11.9 lakh from the office of Gopi Joshi in Wardhman Nagar. After securing the money, the duo hired an Ola cab to return to Buldhana. At approximately 7 PM, as they neared Baba Travels on Wardha Road, two unidentified men on a Pulsar motorcycle approached their vehicle. The suspects forced Bhandarge to open the car window, threatened him at knifepoint, and snatched the bag containing the cash before fleeing the scene.
Following Bhandarge’s complaint, Dhantoli police registered a case under Sections 309(4) and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code. A prompt and thorough investigation by the police led to the arrest of the following individuals:
- Tanuj Chandrakant Zhade, 30, resident of Narendra Nagar, Ajni, Nagpur
- Nikhil Raju Shriwas, 21, resident of Kharbi T-Point, Wathoda, Nagpur
- Abhishek Lokendra Vishwakarma, 21, resident of Chapru Nagar, Lakadganj, Nagpur
- Gauresh Jitendra Bhute, 20, resident of Shrikrishna Nagar, Nandanvan, Nagpur
- Hardik Raju Thosar, 21, resident of Garoba Maidan, Lakadganj, Nagpur
- Ashish Amresh Pandey, 21, resident of Rajendra Nagar, Nandanvan Slums, Nagpur
- Saurabh Devanand Sahare, 22, resident of Old Bagadganj, Nagpur
The police successfully recovered two motorcycles—a Pulsar 220 (MH 49 T 3170) and a Pulsar NS 150 (MH 49 C E 6950)—along with ₹6 lakh in cash. The total value of the seized items amounts to ₹7 lakh. The suspects have been remanded to police custody until August 31, 2024.
The search continues for two additional suspects, identified as Kailas Pusadkar of Garoba Maidan and Durgesh Ingole of Bagadganj, Nagpur.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of senior police officials, including the Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City, the Additional Commissioner of Police (North Division), the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2), and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sitabuldi Division). The investigation team was led by PI Vinayak Koli, with support from API Sanket Chaudhari, PI Ghanaji Markavad, and other officers from Dhantoli and Sadar police stations.
