On Thursday, Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi inaugurated the SHe-Box portal, a new centralized platform aimed at improving workplace safety for women by managing and addressing sexual harassment complaints. The initiative, unveiled at a launch event in Delhi, represents a significant advancement in the government’s ongoing efforts to protect women in both the government and private sectors.
According to the ministry’s statement, the SHe-Box portal will serve as a comprehensive repository for information related to internal and local committees handling such complaints. The portal will enable women to file complaints, monitor their status, and ensure timely processing. It also includes a designated nodal officer for real-time monitoring, streamlining the redressal process.
The event also saw the introduction of a revamped ministry website. Minister Devi highlighted the initiative’s role in fostering a secure and inclusive working environment for women. “This initiative is a critical step forward in providing a more efficient and secure platform for addressing workplace-related sexual harassment complaints,” she said. “It reflects our commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive working environment for women across India.”
The launch of the SHe-Box portal is in line with the government’s broader vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, emphasizing women-led development and safety.
