A Dainik Bhaskar journalist, Sunil Suklal Hajare, has been booked by Sadar Police for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a Regional Transport Office (RTO) officer in Nagpur. Hajare, 44, was apprehended on August 30 after being caught red-handed accepting Rs 80,000 as part of the extortion demand.
The complaint against Hajare was filed by Dhanraj alias Titu Sadhu Ram Sharma, 55, an RTO agent residing in Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Nagpur. According to Sharma, Hajare had already received ₹1 lakh on August 28, as part of an initial demand of ₹1.80 lakh.
