Nagpur Kala Sangh, in collaboration with Yuj Arts Foundation, is set to launch the second edition of the Public Art Festival with the theme “Transcending Boundaries.” The event will take place at VR Nagpur Mall, Rambag Layout, Untkhana, starting at 5 pm on Saturday.
The festival encourages artists to create unique artworks that show their vision and talent. Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari, IAS, Municipal Commissioner, will inaugurate the month-long event. It will start with the unveiling of the ‘Kala Car’ and a vintage car rally, supported by the Central India Vintage Automotive Association. There will also be a folk dance performance of ‘Jogwa.’
The festival will include performances from Kala Mahavidyalaya and a Karvath Kathi Saree exhibition, featuring over 140 installations, sculptures, paintings, and photographs. Works from students of JJ School of Art and Government Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya will be showcased. Highlights include The Basement Art Project and collaborations with UNESCO and the Arts for the Future Festival, expanding the event’s global reach.
Workshops, poetry readings, live music, and an artisanal bazaar will add to the cultural celebration. Nagpur Kala Sangh, as part of VR Nagpur’s ‘Connecting Communities’ initiative, aims to boost civic pride and enhance Nagpur’s cultural reputation.
