In a significant development in the Ramjhula fatal accident case, the District and Sessions Court on Wednesday, September 25, rejected the bail application of Ritika alias Ritu Dinesh Malu (39). The decision clears the way for police to arrest Malu, who is accused of driving a Mercedes while intoxicated and fatally striking two youths at Ramjhula.
The hearing was presided over by Judge RS Patil (Bhosale). Initially, Tehsil police had registered a non-cognisable offence against Malu on February 25, 2024, and she was granted bail on the same day by a first-class judicial magistrate.
The victims’ families, who have been awaiting Malu’s arrest, are now anticipating swift action by law enforcement. The case has garnered widespread public attention, and the court’s rejection of her bail is seen as a critical step toward ensuring justice in the matter.
