The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India is organizing the National Essay Writing Competition 2024 on October 4, as part of the Audit Diwas celebrations. The competition is open to all college students enrolled in institutions recognized by any university in India, provided they are under 23 years of age as of August 1, 2024.
The competition will be conducted in traditional pen-and-paper format in both Hindi and English, with participants required to attend physically at designated venues. In Nagpur, the event will be held at the office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit)-II, Maharashtra, Audit Bhavan, Near High Court, Civil Lines, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Other venues of IA and AD will also host the competition.
Essays will be evaluated separately in English and Hindi, with cash prizes of ₹50,000, ₹40,000, and ₹30,000 awarded to the top three entries in each language. The essay topic will be provided to participants at the start of the competition, and entries must not exceed 1,500 words. Participants are also required to submit a 150-word summary capturing the essence of their essay.
There are no registration fees. Interested students must upload their photograph, student ID, and proof of date of birth while registering online at the ‘National Essay Writing Competition 2024’ portal by October 3, 10 a.m. Winners will be announced on November 5 via the competition portal and the CAG’s official website, with the prize distribution scheduled for November 16.
