The historic town of Kaundinyapur in Maharashtra’s Amravati district has been facing the threat of a leopard sighting in agricultural farms for the last few days. The leopard has killed six domestic animals and the villagers are facing the threat of attacks on them.
The cases of man-animal conflict have grown recently, with the wildlife territory shrinking. The population of the big cats has increased in the Vidarbha’s popular tiger reserves.
The villagers in Kaundinyapur, known to be the hometown of Lord Krishna’s wife Subhadra, have demanded immediate action to control the leopard roaming in the region. They have suffered losses as the leopard killed their domestic animals.
