The principals of all military schools will now be the retired military officer. The schools will follow the CBSC course, which will help the students to enter the National Defence Academy (NDA). The curriculum will be similar to the Satara Military School.
The decision to change the curriculum and head of all military schools in Maharashtra was taken by the Maharashtra Cabinet on Monday. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde chaired the cabinet meeting. Coeducation in the granted and non-granted military schools will also be introduced. The education will be through English medium and a Military School Regulatory Committee will be constituted. The state government will also allow annual fees of Rs 50,000 for the military schools under the Maharashtra Education Society (Fees Regulation) Rules of 2021.
The principal to be appointed should be at least a retired Colonel or equivalent position. The principal will be called the Administrative Officer.
