The BCCI has announced India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match Test series against New Zealand.
Skipper Rohit Sharma will lead the team, while star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been appointed as the deputy captain.
Bumrah has distinguished himself with his ability to make the ball move and his resilient character, often pulling India out of challenging situations. The decision to appoint him as vice-captain follows the series against Bangladesh, where the team did not have a designated vice-captain.
Reports suggest that skipper Rohit could miss out on the first two Tests in Australia for personal reasons, and this poses a decision made with the seamer being able to slip in as a replacement for the batter if need be.
India’s squad for the three Tests against New Zealand features Rohit Sharma as captain and Jasprit Bumrah as vice-captain. The team includes players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Sarfaraz Khan. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel will serve as wicketkeepers, while the bowling lineup consists of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, and Akash Deep. Additionally, the traveling reserves are Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mayank Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna.
