A modern, smart toilet constructed by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) was inaugurated by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Abhijeet Chaudhari on Monday at Walkers Street in Civil Lines. The facility boasts various modern amenities, including air conditioning, two toilets and changing rooms for women, and three toilets for men.
The toilet features a sensor-based smart entrance, eliminating the need for manual operation. The inauguration was attended by Collector Vipin Itankar, Additional Commissioner Anchal Goyal, Deputy Commissioners Prakash Warade and Dr. Gajendra Mahalle, Superintending Engineer Manoj Talewar, Executive Engineer (Slum) Kamlesh Chavan, and Devendra Bhowte.

The women’s area is equipped with a hand dryer and wash basin, ensuring convenience. To enhance cleanliness and aesthetics, trees have been planted at the entrance, beautifying the entire area.
The use of the urinal in the smart toilet will be free, while charges will apply for other facilities: Rs. 7 for toilet usage, Rs. 20 for a cold water bath, and Rs. 30 for a hot water bath.
To ensure proper maintenance of the smart toilet, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has established a dedicated room for maintenance personnel on the upper level of the building. On this occasion, members of the Walkers Club, including Prashant Ugemuge, Dinesh Naidu, Praveen Kale, Rahul Gharote, Sanjay Chaurasia, Brijesh Sahu, Abhishek Thakur, Deven Aggarwal, along with NMC junior engineer Manoj Rangari, Sachin Chawte, Arun Pethewar, Kapil Gupta, and Rajeev Chaudhary, were also present.
