Tuli College of Hotel Management, Nagpur, celebrated International Chefs Week 2024 with a series of dynamic and educational events aimed at fostering the culinary talents of its students under the direction of College Director Dr. Urvashi Yashroy, Culinary Chef Vishal Chawre and college faculties. The week-long celebration, held at the college, featured competitions, workshops, and learning sessions, making it a memorable experience for aspiring chefs.
On day1 -The event kicked off with a Cultural Culinary Journey by Executive Chef of Hotel le Meridien Saroj sah, where students participated in a PowerPoint competition, presenting on national and international cuisines. This competition provided students with an opportunity to explore diverse food cultures, encouraging them to think globally about culinary arts.
On day2- A Bakery Product Workshop followed by Chef Ramindra Datta, where students learned the art of pastry making, giving them hands-on experience with pastry techniques, showcasing the students’ artistic skills with edible designs.
On day3- One of the key highlights was a session on Nutrition Education and Label Reading by Dr Priyanka Hulsure, she guided on how to interpret food labels and understand the nutritional content of various ingredients. This was complemented by a fun and challenging Food Quiz Competition, testing students’ knowledge of food, nutrition, and cooking techniques.
On day4- The event also featured a Food Creative Art & Microwave Cooking Competition judged by Chef Saurabh Mehta (chef consultant- Farzi café), where students demonstrated their culinary innovation & food art skills to presenting intricate designs with edible materials and demonstrated their culinary innovation and time management.
Day5- The week concluded with a session by Ms Snehal Date , Astt prof Symbiosis International University on Food Safety Awareness, emphasizing the importance of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
The celebration ended with a Valedictory Function and Prize Distribution. Recognizing the efforts and achievements of the students Mr Mohabat Singh Tuli applauded the effort. The event was a great motivator, inspiring students to pursue culinary excellence and embrace their future careers with passion.
