BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Nagpur, Celebrates Annakut Utsav with Great Enthusiasm
BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Nagpur, Wathoda, celebrated Annakut Utsav today, featuring over 1500 diverse dishes. This festival was part of the Deepotsav celebrations, which hold great significance for Indians. Deepotsav, or Diwali, is a premier festival for all Indians.
In the wake of the sacred festival of Diwali, BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Nagpur, organized a grand Annakut ceremony on November 2, featuring over 1500 diverse dishes.
Continuing the tradition started by Lord Shri Krishna 5500 years ago, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha celebrated Annakut Utsav with great enthusiasm in over 1800 temples worldwide.
Annakut, meaning a mountain of food, is celebrated with great enthusiasm in BAPS Swaminarayan Mandirs and Hari Mandirs. During this festival, a variety of dishes are offered to God. The Swaminarayan Mandir in London also celebrates a grand Annakut festival with 2200-2500 dishes, which has been recognized by the Guinness World Records.
At BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Nagpur, a Chopda Pujan ceremony was held on the evening of Diwali (October 31) at 6:00 pm, followed by the Annakut festival today. Over 1500 dishes were presented, prepared with great devotion by saints and devotees over the past month. More than 300 volunteers contributed to the success of the festival.
The event saw a large turnout of over 20,000 devotees, including more than 3,000 invited guests.
