MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday unveiled ten major promises from the ruling alliance’s election manifesto, highlighting measures aimed at women’s welfare and agricultural support. The Assembly elections are set for November 20.
At a rally in support of the Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, NCP, and Shiv Sena, Shinde announced an increase in financial aid under the Ladki Bahin Yojana, raising it from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100 per month. The scheme, he emphasized, demonstrates the government’s commitment to women’s welfare.
Additionally, Shinde pledged to strengthen women’s safety by inducting 25,000 women into the police force, a significant move toward improving security measures.
A major promise also included a farm loan waiver, aimed at providing relief to farmers without impacting the state’s financial health. “Farm loans will be waived without adding any burden on state finances,” he assured the gathering.
The rally was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Shinde noted that the full manifesto would be released in the coming days.
