Mosin Shaikh, a Mechanical Engineering student from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, and Soham Ghugare from VIT Vellore, made headlines at the Cosmoverse Hackathon in Dubai by securing joint first place and winning the prestigious “Best User/Dev Experience” award. The duo’s achievements earned them a $3,000 prize for first place, along with an additional $2,000 for the Best Experience award.
This was the first international hackathon for both Shaikh and Ghugare, who competed against global teams to address a challenge centered on advancing the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol within the Interchain Stack.
In response, the two developed “Cosmic Quest,” an innovative educational platform that turns traditional blockchain learning into a Role-Playing Game (RPG) format, making blockchain education both accessible and engaging. The Cosmoverse Hackathon, one of the largest gatherings in Web3, tasked participants with creating solutions using IBC to improve user and developer experiences in the interchain ecosystem.
