Nagpur: A 16-wheeler truck loaded with shredded currency waste caught fire on Sunday morning near Kandhali village in Wardha district along the Nagpur-Hyderabad highway on Sunday morning. The vehicle, carrying large quantities of discarded currency paper, reportedly ignited due to a short circuit.
According to sources, the shredded currency waste had recently been auctioned by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The truck, originating from Hyderabad and headed to Uttar Pradesh, was quickly attended by local authorities who arrived at the scene to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.
The Sindhi Police Station has initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, focusing on possible safety issues related to the transport of the shredded material. Further details are expected as the inquiry unfolds.
