As Assembly elections approach, Nagpur police have heightened security across the city, focusing on the safety of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) stored in strong rooms. On Friday, Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal conducted inspections at these facilities and reviewed security arrangements.
EVMs used for the polls have been securely housed in strong rooms, including a key location at St. Ursula Girls’ High School in Civil Lines, where Dr. Singal visited to assess the measures in place. During his inspection, he issued detailed instructions to security personnel and coordinated with election officials to ensure smooth operations during the election period.
In the days leading up to the elections, Nagpur police have launched extensive inspection drives, setting up checkpoints across the city to monitor vehicles and search suspected criminals.
Additionally, arrangements have been made for police personnel on election duty to cast their votes via ballot paper at the same locations where the EVMs are stored. These proactive measures aim to ensure a secure and seamless electoral process.
