Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced that work on the Nagpur-Gondia Samruddhi Expressway has officially begun, marking a significant step toward boosting agriculture and industries in the region. Addressing a campaign rally in Sadak Arjuni on Monday for Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) candidate Rajkumar Badole, Gadkari revealed plans for a feasibility study to extend the expressway to Raipur.
Further, Gadkari highlighted efforts to connect the road to Visakhapatnam, aiming to enhance the export of rice and other agricultural products, thus driving prosperity in Gondia and Bhandara districts.
“Paddy is the largest cultivated crop in Gondia, but recent years have seen an increase in maize and sugarcane farming. Diversifying crop patterns adds value and boosts production. Ethanol production from maize, sugarcane, and paddy stubble will transform farmers into fuel providers,” said Gadkari.
He praised Badole’s contributions as former Social Justice Minister, including securing the Indu Mill site for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s memorial, and assured voters of uninterrupted development in the constituency.
Badole, speaking at the rally, shared his vision of transforming the Arjuni Morgaon constituency into a model region and urged voters to support him in achieving this goal.
The meeting was attended by MP Praful Patel, former MP Sunil Mendhe, candidate Rajkumar Badole, and Mahayuti leaders and workers.
