The Nagpur Municipal Corporation will launch a 100-day drive aimed at eradication of tuberculosis from December 7, 2024 to March 24, 2025. March 24 is observed a the World Tuberculosis Day.
NMC’s Health Officer Dr Deepal Selokar will lead a team of health workers for identifying tuberculosis patients and starting their treatment. The team will also generate awareness about TB and provide kits of nutritional food to the patients.
The drive has been undertaken under the Prime Minister’s mission of making India TB-free. The programme will be carried out simultaneously in 347 districts of the country, including 30 districts in Maharashtra. Nagpur district is one of the 30 districts selected under the mission for Intensified Case Finding (ICF).
