The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Nagpur Crime Branch seized MD drugs worth Rs 6.1 lakh during a late-night operation on Friday, December 6. The raid was conducted at Manepura Chowk, Gangabai Ghat Road, under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station.
The operation, conducted between 1:30 AM and 3:30 AM, resulted in the apprehension of Yash Deepak Ingole (22), a resident of Manepura Chowk. Officials recovered 59 grams of MD (Mephedrone) powder and a mobile phone from his possession, with the total value of the seized items pegged at ₹6.1 lakh.
A second suspect, identified as Dheeraj Malik, a resident of Sweeper Colony on Gangabai Ghat Road, is absconding. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him.
The operation was initiated after officials on a routine night patrol noticed the suspicious behavior of the accused at Manepura Chowk. A swift search conducted in the presence of witnesses led to the recovery of the contraband. A detailed panchanama was documented, and the seized items were secured by the team.
The arrested individual has been handed over to Kotwali Police Station for further investigation. A case has been registered under Sections 8(c), 22(c), and 29 of the NDPS Act.
