Two owls in a weakened condition were rescued from the premises of VMV College, Wardhaman Nagar, on Friday, December 6. The operation was conducted by the Wildlife Welfare Society after being alerted by a college staff member.
Aarti Sainij, an employee of the college, noticed the birds struggling to fly and immediately contacted Abhishek Sawane, a member of the Wildlife Welfare Society. Acting swiftly, Sawane mobilized a rescue team.
The team, comprising Nitesh Bhandakkar, Deepak Sharma, Ankit Khalode, and Pravin Tule, reached the site and carefully inspected the owls, which were found perched but appeared weak and disoriented.
The owls were safely secured and transported to the Transit Treatment Center at Seminary Hill, where they will receive the necessary care and medical attention.
