The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) recently conducted a cleanliness awareness drive across all wards in the Dharampeth zone to promote hygiene and encourage citizens to adopt clean habits.
The initiative was launched under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary and Additional Commissioner Anchal Goyal. Deputy Commissioner Prakash Varade and Zonal Officer Dindayal Tembhekar emphasized the importance of cleanliness through various activities during the campaign.
The campaign featured cleanliness rallies involving school students, local residents, and NMC employees. Street plays at key locations highlighted important messages on waste management, including the slogan “My Pocket, My Bin.” Participants were educated on the importance of avoiding littering, using public toilets, and incorporating cleanliness into their daily routines.
Human chains were also formed across wards, symbolizing collective support for the cause. The initiative, aligned with the Swachh Bharat Mission’s objectives, successfully raised awareness, particularly among the youth, and fostered a culture of cleanliness within the community.
