The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has instructed schools to submit details of their teachers, including qualifications and documents, as part of the Mandatory Public Disclosure requirements. Schools have also been mandated to create official websites for sharing this information.
However, CBSE observed that many affiliated schools still do not have functional websites, despite repeated reminders.
Additionally, CBSE noted that while some schools have functional websites, they have either not uploaded the required information and documents under Mandatory Public Disclosure or have done so only partially.
In some instances, schools have uploaded the required details, but the links to these documents are inactive. Additionally, some schools have provided the prescribed information, but the icons or links to access them are not clearly visible on the homepage.
“The Board had directed all affiliated schools to create their individual websites and upload details of teachers, qualifications, and prescribed information and documents as part of Mandatory Public Disclosure, following the format outlined in the cited circular,” states the official CBSE notice.
The notice further instructs schools to comply with these provisions within one month. Non-compliance may lead to action under Chapter 12 of the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018.
“Therefore, the Board is providing a final opportunity to all affiliated schools to comply with the instructions within 30 days of this circular’s issuance. Failure to do so will compel the Board to initiate proceedings and impose penalties on non-compliant schools as per Chapter 12 and Chapter 13 of the Affiliation Bye-Laws, without any further reminders,” stated the notification.
CBSE has directed schools that appear to have complied with the given instructions to review their websites and verify the accuracy of the uploaded information and documents.
