City’s food lovers have a new reason to rejoice as McDonald’s has opened its first standalone drive-thru restaurant in the city. Located on Katol Road, the outlet covers a built-up area of 3,867 sq. ft. on a 10,000 sq. ft. plot. The drive-thru promises to enhance customer convenience with features like digital order displays, self-ordering kiosks (SOKs), and a quick service guarantee of fulfilling orders within 120 seconds.
Saket Tikkas, Deputy Project Manager at McDonald’s, announced the launch on LinkedIn, describing it as “Nagpur’s first-ever McDonald’s free-standing drive-thru store,” while sharing glimpses of the new facility. This marks another milestone in the brand’s efforts to expand its footprint across city suburbs and highways.
McDonald’s opened its first drive-thru in India in 2001 at Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai, and plans to make 30-35% of its new outlets drive-thru locations over the next 3-4 years. Operated by Hardcastle Restaurants, a subsidiary of Westlife Foodworld Ltd., McDonald’s India continues to focus on innovative formats, including 24/7 outlets, McDelivery, and dessert kiosks.
The Nagpur outlet is set to redefine quick-service dining in the region, aligning with McDonald’s mission to offer modern and customer-friendly experiences.
