Nagpur: Shivani Ishwar Duble (27), a resident of Vishwakarma Nagar, tragically lost her life in a paragliding accident in Goa. Shivani, who had traveled with friends to celebrate the New Year, fell into a ditch after the rope securing her snapped mid-air.
The incident occurred on January 18, with Shivani falling from a height of approximately 100 feet. She sustained critical injuries and succumbed on the spot.
The Goa Police have recovered her body and, after completing formalities, are transporting it to Nagpur via Hyderabad on a cargo plane. Shivani’s father, Ishwar Duble, has traveled to Goa and is expected to arrive in Nagpur on Tuesday morning.
Shivani’s mother, a retired nurse from the Super Specialty Hospital, and her younger sister survive her.
The tragic incident highlights the risks associated with adventure sports and has left Shivani’s family and friends in deep grief.
