Former NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Prakash Gajbhiye, who suffered a severe head injury during a family trip to Srinagar, is now stable and will soon be transferred to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for further treatment.
The incident occurred on January 24, 2025, when Gajbhiye slipped and fell, sustaining a serious head injury. He was immediately admitted to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura district, where he was placed in the ICU and put on a ventilator.
Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh contacted Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to ensure prompt medical assistance. MP Supriya Sule also reached out to Abdullah, seeking the best treatment for Gajbhiye.
On Tuesday, Gajbhiye regained consciousness, and doctors removed him from the ventilator. His condition has stabilized, and he continues to receive care at SKIMS ICU until his transfer to Mumbai.
