Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will be honoured by the BCCI with C K Naidu Life Time Achievement Award, during a function to be held at its Head Office in Mumbai on February 1. Last year the award was given to former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri. Tendulkar will be the 31st player to receive this award.
Tendulkar (51) played 664 international games for India and holds a record number of runs in the test and one-day international matches. In 200 tests he scored 15,921 runs and in 463 ODIs 18,426 runs. He also played one T20 international match. Making a debut in 1989 at the age of 16 against Pakistan he played for about 20 years and scored 100 centuries in all the formats of cricket. He was an important member of India’s World Cup winner squad in 2011. The tournament was his sixth and the last one.
