Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the Nagpur district administration on Wednesday confirmed that all tourists from Nagpur are safe. No fatalities have been reported among residents of the district, despite the tense situation in the Valley.
During the time of the attack, a Nagpur-based family was present in the affected area. Reacting to the sound of gunfire, the family attempted to flee by jumping down a hillside. In the process, Simran Rupchandnani sustained minor injuries after slipping. Fortunately, all three members of the family are now confirmed to be safe.
In response to the incident, the Nagpur District Collector’s Office has activated a 24×7 control room and help desk to assist concerned citizens and relatives. The helpline numbers — 0712-2562668 and 8860018817 — have been made available for continuous support and updates.
So far, the administration has successfully contacted approximately 220 tourists from Nagpur who are currently in Kashmir. Officials have assured that all tourists are safe, with the majority reported to be staying in Srinagar.
The district administration remains in close coordination with authorities in Kashmir to ensure the continued safety of Nagpur tourists and is actively monitoring the situation.
