The Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur Police arrested a 29-year-old man on Wednesday night for illegally selling tickets for the India vs. England one-day cricket match scheduled for February 6 at VCA Stadium, Sadar.
Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended the accused, identified as Mohammed Junaid Mohammed Jamaluddin, near Dolly’s tea stall opposite the stadium. A resident of Habib Nagar, Teka Naka, Nagpur, Junaid was found selling tickets at inflated prices for personal financial gain.
During the search, authorities recovered four match tickets worth ₹40,000, a mobile phone, and a Splendor bike (MH-31-FL-9988) valued at ₹79,000.
A case was registered at Sadar Police Station under Section 33(x) and 131 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused, along with the seized items, was handed over to Sadar Police for further investigation.
