A sudden spell of cold winds has brought back the winter chill to Nagpur and surrounding districts in Vidarbha. On Friday, February 7, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 17.2 degrees Celsius, marking a 2.2-degree dip, while the maximum temperature stood at 30.8 degrees Celsius, a drop of 3.9 degrees.
The weather change has offered much-needed relief to residents who were experiencing unusually warm conditions in early February. Sweaters and jackets, which had been packed away, have made a comeback as the city adjusts to the cooler weather.
Cold Winds from Northern India Behind Temperature Dip:
Meteorologists attribute the sudden drop in temperature to the inflow of cold winds from northern India. The chilly conditions are expected to persist over the coming days, keeping daytime and nighttime temperatures below seasonal norms.
Relief for Residents and Market Trends:
The return of winter-like weather has been welcomed by citizens who were earlier compelled to use fans. Markets selling winter wear have witnessed a rise in demand as people rush to purchase warm clothing. Early morning joggers and walkers have also started layering up to combat the chill.
Health Precautions Advised:
Health experts have urged residents, particularly the elderly and children, to take necessary precautions against sudden temperature changes to avoid seasonal illnesses.
