Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) toll-free grievance redressal helpline, ‘155304’, at his Ramgiri residence on Friday. The launch event was attended by NMC Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari, Additional Municipal Commissioner Anchal Goyal, and Superintending Engineer Shweta Banerjee.
Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari has assured the Chief Minister that every complaint received through helpline number will be sent to the concerned department. Regular feedback will also be collected from the citizens.
A dedicated team has been deployed at the Shradhey Atal Bihari Vajpayee City Operation Centre in the NMC headquarters to ensure the smooth operation of the helpline service. The helpline will be available from 8 AM to 8 PM on weekdays and from 10 AM to 8 PM on weekends.
The new helpline is an addition to the existing ‘My Nagpur’ app and the grievance redressal portal, which were introduced to address citizens’ concerns. However, these services have largely failed to meet expectations. After an initial phase of responsiveness, both platforms have struggled to resolve complaints effectively. Even notices issued by the NMC Commissioner failed to bring any significant improvement.
Municipal authorities have urged citizens to utilize the helpline for grievance redressal.
