Nagpur: In a significant operation aimed at combating counterfeit products, Hudkeshwar Police conducted a successful raid on Hudkeshwar Road, Nagpur, on February 6, following reliable intelligence inputs. The operation led to the seizure of 1,897 counterfeit Astral CPVC pipes and the arrest of shop owner Mukesh Rameshwarlal Prajapati.
According to police, Prajapati was found involved in manufacturing, selling, and stocking counterfeit Astral CPVC pipes of various sizes. The seized items included:
• ¾-inch CPVC Pipes: 850 pieces
• 1-inch CPVC Pipes: 440 pieces
• 1.25-inch CPVC Pipes: 153 pieces
• 1.5-inch CPVC Pipes: 255 pieces
• 2-inch CPVC Pipes: 199 pieces
The raid was executed under the supervision of Inspector Dnyaneshwar Bhedodkar from Hudkeshwar Police Station. Acting on his directives, a special team was deployed to conduct the operation, resulting in the seizure of the counterfeit pipes.
Prajapati has been apprehended and booked under FIR No. 82 of 2025, registered on February 6 at Hudkeshwar Police Station. Authorities emphasized that the crackdown was part of an ongoing effort to curb the circulation of counterfeit products in Nagpur.
The police urged the public and businesses to remain vigilant against counterfeit goods and report any suspicious activities. Further investigations are underway.
