A major accident was averted on Sunday afternoon at Nagpur railway station. A tanker of a goods train standing on the main line caught fire. The goods train was carrying diesel through the tanker from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh to Tadali in Chandrapur district.
On getting the information, the railway officials present at the station reached the spot with fire extinguishing equipment and extinguished the fire. At the time when this fire broke out, Telangana Express was standing on platform one. If the fire had reached the diesel present in the tanker, it would have even caused a blast. However, due to the prudence of the officials, a major accident was averted.
