The Maharashtra State Board Class 10 (SSC) examinations are set to begin on February 21, with 1.51 lakh students from Nagpur division appearing for the exams. In Nagpur district alone, 58,495 students will take the exam. The Divisional Board of Education has completed all necessary preparations to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.
The board exams will be held from February 21 to March 17, while practical exams will conclude on February 20. A total of 682 examination centers have been designated across the division, with 22 centres in Nagpur district.
Strict Monitoring to Prevent Malpractice
To maintain a fair examination process, flying squads will be deployed from day one as part of the copy-free campaign. Center heads, especially those in rural areas, have been instructed to remain vigilant. Strict action will be taken against any centers found involved in mass copying, officials have warned.
New Evaluation System to Benefit Students
This year, the State Board has introduced changes in the examination and evaluation system, making it easier for students to pass. The new system includes 20 marks for internal assessment in each subject, aligning with the three-language formula (Marathi, Hindi, English).
Under this system:
- Language subjects: 10 marks for homework and 10 marks for oral exams
- Science: 8 marks for the application book and 12 marks for practical applications
- Mathematics: 10 marks for homework and 10 marks for objective-type questions
To pass the exam, students need a minimum of 105 marks across the three-language subjects. Even in other subjects, securing at least 25 marks will be sufficient to qualify.
