Novel research by Dr Dhoble, Sylvester
Dr Sanjay Dhoble of RTM Nagpur University’s Department of Physics with his student Marciana Sylvester has scaled another milestone in generating green energy from moving vehicles. The energy is created by pressure in the tyres of two and four-wheelers created during their movements. An international patent has been awarded for the novel research work. The patent is 95th by Dr Dhoble, who is among the top 2 percent of researchers in the world.
In an effort to find an alternative source of energy that fossil fuel and water, Dr Dhoble with Marciana carried out the research. The aim was not only to save traditional fuel but also to prevent health problems caused due to their uncontrolled use.
Dr Dhoble used Piezoelectrical material, which can be used in the vehicle’s tyres or tubes to generate energy.
PIEZOELECTRICITY: Piezoelectricity is the ability of certain materials to generate electricity when they are squeezed or pressed. The word comes from the Greek word piezein, which means to squeeze or press. The material is very cheap and affordable by the common man. The energy generated is of good quality and does not produce carbon dioxide. The energy, thus is eco-friendly.
The energy generated can be used for better performance of the vehicle itself so that enhanced mileage can be achieved.
RTMNU’s Officiating Vice-Chancellor Dr Prashant Bokare, Pro-VC Dr Rajendra Kakde, Registrar Dr Raju Hiwase and others congratulated Dr Doble and Marciana for the achievement.
