Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has planned to set up student facilitation centres in four districts—Katol (Nagpur rural), Wardha, Bhandara, and Gondia—to help outstation students with revaluation, duplicate marksheets, name corrections, and similar tasks, so they won’t need to visit Nagpur for minor issues.
The university is also launching a mobile app, RTMNU Suvidha Kendra, offering 23 academic and exam-related services at students’ fingertips.
RTMNU Vice Chancellor Dr. Madhavi Khode announced the move to set up student facilitation centres, fulfilling a long-pending demand from senate members to ease student convenience. The initiative has received strong backing from the university’s senate, as it directly supports students and reduces administrative load.
RTMNU senate member Vaman Turke, speaking to the media on Friday evening, said students from towns like Pulgaon, Hinganghat, and Saoner often faced difficulties travelling to Nagpur for small tasks.
For years, these students had to endure long journeys to the main campus for essential aca-demic and administrative tasks. This not only took a toll on their time but also placed a financial burden on them. Tasks such as obtaining duplicate mark sheets, correcting names, verifying degree certificates, and applying for migration or eligibility certifi-cates required frequent travel, admitted Turke.
As part of its comprehensive student support plan, RTMNU will launch a mobile app, RTMNU Suvidha Kendra, on April 14, 2025. The app, along with four new facilitation centres, will be fully operational from April 15.
Students will be able to access 23 academic and exam-related services—like revaluation, reassessment, and certificate applications—through both the app and the centres.
The four student facilitation centres will be inaugurated on April 15 and operate during regular college hours, with dedicated staff and necessary infrastructure, including computers and printers.
The centres will be set up at Indraprastha New Arts College (Wardha), Nabira Mahavidyalaya (Katol), Dhote Bandhu Science College (Gondia), and J.M. Patel College (Bhandara). They aim to assist over 540 affiliated colleges and 4 lakh students. In case of operational issues, the host college principal will ensure timely resolution.
Senate and management council members, including Ajay Chavan, Roshni Khelkar, Raj Madankar, and others, were present during the media interaction.
