A 21-year-old MBA student was brutally attacked inside Jade Leaf Café near Shankar Nagar Square on Monday evening, following a long-standing dispute. Sitabuldi police have registered a case of attempted murder and launched a search for the accused, who are currently absconding.
The victim, Harshdeepsingh Manojsingh Rajput, a resident of Wadi, was seated in the café when a group of youths, including Dakshu Yadav, Rushikesh Srivas, and three to four others, allegedly confronted him over an earlier altercation. The argument quickly escalated, and one of the attackers reportedly struck Rajput with a sharp weapon.
This is not the first time the victim has been targeted. The same group had earlier attacked him near Kadbi Square, but the matter was settled informally through family intervention and never reached the police.
Police said the feud had been ongoing for over a year. Following the attack, other customers at the café were left shocked as chaos erupted. Rajput was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
A case of attempt to murder and other relevant sections has been registered. Efforts to trace and apprehend the accused are ongoing.
