Sahejveer Singh Maras and Shraddha Bajaj clinched the Nagpur District Under-15 Selection Chess Championship titles in the Open and Girls categories respectively, while Chirag Lahoti and Swara Gandhi won the Nagpur District Under-11 Selection Chess Championship titles in the Open and Girls categories.
The Nagpur District Under-11 & Under-15 Selection Chess Championships for Open and Girls were organized by the Chess Association Nagpur in association with G.H. Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation, MKH Sancheti Group, and Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation at Vivekanand Hall, Shraddha House, Kingsway, near Kasturchand Park, Nagpur, on 14th April 2025. Prizes for the event were sponsored by MKH Sancheti Group.

In the Under-15 Open category, Sahejveer Singh Maras, Vishwaditya Awasthi, and Mohak Bhagchandani all scored 5 points out of 6. Based on tie-break scores, Sahejveer Singh Maras was declared the winner, while Vishwaditya and Mohak were placed second and third respectively. Yuval Mohurle scored 4½ points and secured the 4th position.
In the Under-15 Girls category, Shraddha Bajaj scored a perfect 6 out of 6 to claim the title. Riddhi Agrawal and Divyanshi Khandelwal both scored 5 points each and were placed second and third respectively. Anvi Hirde scored 4 points and finished fourth.
In the Under-11 Open category, Chirag Lahoti and Manas Karnase both scored 5½ points out of 6. After tie-break, Chirag was declared the winner, followed by Manas in second place. Rutam Zanwar and Paris Kubde scored 5 points each and were placed third and fourth respectively based on tie-break.
In the Under-11 Girls category, Swara Gandhi was in top form, scoring 5½ out of 6 to win the title. Anushka Deshpande came second with 5 points. Ojasvi Poharkar scored 4½ points and Nrutya Gurve scored 4 points to finish third and fourth respectively.
The following players will represent Nagpur District in the Maharashtra State Under-11 and Under-15 Open & Girls Chess Championships 2025:
Under-15 Open: Sahejveer Singh Maras, Vishwaditya Awasthi, Mohak Bhagchandani, Yuval Mohurle
Under-15 Girls: Shraddha Bajaj, Riddhi Agrawal, Divyanshi Khandelwal, Anvi Hirde
Under-11 Open: Chirag Lahoti, Manas Karnase
Under-11 Girls: Swara Gandhi, Anushka Deshpande
Prizes were distributed by Shri Ketan Thakre, Social Worker and President of Mahalaxmi Welfare Society, in the presence of Shri Amit Yenurkar, Director of MKH Sancheti Group, former senior chess player Jayant Katdhare, and Bhushan Shriwas, Secretary of Chess Association Nagpur.
FA Shiva Iyer served as Chief Arbiter, assisted by FA Amit Tembhurne, SNA Prayas Ambade, SNA Akash Rewatkar, and SNA Shyam Agrawal.
