A 35-year-old man was brutally killed during a domestic dispute in Kalamna on April 16, following a clash with his brother-in-law. The Yashodhara Nagar Police have apprehended the accused, identified as Rahul Dilip Ingle (24), shortly after the incident.
The deceased, Tarachand Shivcharan Prajapati, a resident of Kali Mandir Road in Gokulnagar, was married to Jyoti Prajapati for the last 10 years. Around one and a half months ago, Jyoti left her marital home and began living with her parents in the Yashodhara Nagar police jurisdiction near Shani Mandir, Kalamna.
Since then, Tarachand had been regularly visiting his in-laws in an effort to convince his wife to return. On the night of April 16, around 8:30 pm to 9:00 pm, he went to meet her again. During the visit, an argument broke out between him and his brother-in-law Rahul over the issue of Jyoti not returning to her marital home.
The altercation turned violent, and in a fit of rage, Rahul allegedly struck Tarachand on the head with a brick. Tarachand was rushed to Mayo Hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Shivcharan Jamnalal Prajapati (58), the Yashodhara Nagar Police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Acting swiftly, police tracked down the accused and took him into custody.
