The ongoing concretisation of the road from Maharajbagh Square to the University Library has turned into a daily hassle for commuters, making travel along the stretch a frustrating experience.
A section of the road remains unfinished, leading the implementing authority to block it off. As a result, traffic has been diverted, forcing commuters to navigate the route using only one side of the road. This partial closure has led to heavy congestion, with drivers expressing frustration over the inconvenience caused by the prolonged and incomplete construction.
A cement road has been laid on one stretch of the route from the University Library to Maharajbagh Square, but the concreting work is still in progress. As a result, construction materials and cement pipes are scattered along the road, adding to the inconvenience for commuters.
As workers continue with the concreting work, a large mixer truck frequently moves along the stretch to pour concrete. Meanwhile, excavation work has begun on the other side of the road, which is yet to be completed. With both directions of traffic being forced onto the cemented portion, the road has narrowed significantly due to ongoing construction. This has led to heavy congestion. Around noon, long queues of vehicles were seen on one side as the concrete mixer had no space to pass through.
