For the first time, Class 11 admissions across Maharashtra will be conducted through a fully centralised online system, expanding the process beyond select municipal corporations to cover the entire state.
The School Education and Sports Department has announced that the online registration portal for admissions will go live on May 19. All students seeking entry into arts, commerce, or science streams in higher secondary schools and junior colleges must apply through this centralised system.
In a strict directive, the Education Department has warned that colleges not registered with the Central Admission Committee, as well as students who fail to complete their registration, will be ineligible for admission.
Dr. Jayant Jambhulkar, a member of the Central Admission Control Committee, explained that college allotments will be based on students’ academic scores and the preferences they submit during the application process.
As part of the preparations, all aided, unaided, and self-financed higher secondary schools and junior colleges were instructed to submit details of their admission capacities to the department by May 17.
