Nagpur is charging ahead in public healthcare with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) constructing a state-of-the-art Urban Community Health Centre (UCHC) in Minimata Nagar. This upcoming 30-bed, double-storey facility is more than just a hospital — it’s a community lifeline in the making.
With construction in full swing, NMC Commissioner Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari personally inspected the site on May 22, joined by senior officials including Additional Commissioner Vasumana Pant and Chief Engineer Manoj Talewar. Dr. Chaudhari gave clear orders to expedite all remaining work, focusing on interiors, landscaping, furniture, and smooth access — blending functionality with patient comfort.
This UCHC aims to reduce the burden on city hospitals by bringing quality healthcare closer to home for thousands. No more long queues, no more distant travel — just timely, reliable treatment for the people of Minimata Nagar and nearby areas.
To ensure smooth operations, the NMC Health Department will run the centre, with a proposal underway to the state government for staff and advanced medical equipment.
Dr. Chaudhari’s message was loud and clear: “This health centre must be completed on priority. It will be a lifeline for our people.” This is not just development — it’s a bold step toward healthcare equality.
What Will the UCHC Offer?
OPD & IPD services
Pediatric & neonatal care
Gynecology, eye & dental treatments
24×7 emergency care
Radiology & diagnostics
Minor surgeries & inpatient observation
