The Supreme Court has approved August 3 as the final date for the NEET-PG 2025 exam, which will be held in a single shift as per the court’s earlier directive.
A bench of Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Augustine George Masih accepted the National Board of Examination’s (NBE) explanation that they needed more than 1,000 exam centres to conduct the test in one go, requiring time for proper arrangements.
The court emphasized that no further extensions will be granted.
Originally scheduled for June 15, the exam was postponed after the Supreme Court ruled against holding it in two shifts, citing fairness concerns.
The NBE said August 3 was the earliest date its technology partner, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), could arrange for a single-shift exam from 9 am to 12:30 pm.
Officials have been instructed to ensure secure exam centres and maintain full transparency during the exam.
