In a significant crackdown, Ganeshpeth Police raided a massage parlour operating under the guise of a salon and rescued four women who were reportedly victims of a prostitution racket. The raid was conducted at Blossom – The Professional Unisex Salon, located on the second floor of Rahul Complex, within the Ganeshpeth Police Station limits.
The salon owner, identified as Pranay Keshav Ganveer (27), a resident of Shiv Mandir, Wanadongri, was arrested in connection with the case.
According to officials, the raid was carried out following a tip-off about illegal activities being run under the pretext of massage services. A police team led by Inspector Sanjay Mendhe, along with PSI Vijendra Nachan and Malhar Doifode, conducted the operation and rescued the women from the premises.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had lured the women to Nagpur under false pretences of employment, later coercing them into prostitution with promises of higher pay and better job prospects.
In addition to the arrest, the police have seized mobile phones and other items valued at ₹63,524 from the salon. Further inquiry is underway to determine the full extent of the racket and whether more individuals are involved.
